Weekend Recovery

The weekend has been much better than the beginning to last week! We still have a chicken down...M has a bad cold, but we'll take that over last week's happenings! Here are a few pics that are sure to give you a grin :)

Burns, Stomach Bugs, and Bladder Infections, Oh My!

We have had quite an eventful few days! It all started Sunday night when Kris was fixing some dinner. E stuck her fingers under the eye on the stove. Thankfully, Kris was right there and pulled them out quickly, but not without burning 2 of her fingers. It's a pretty bad burn, blistered immediately...she was crying, I was holding back the tears. She was so brave and eventually allowed us to hold her hand in a cup of ice water. And later allowed us to bandage them up. She really has been a trooper through cleanings and band-aid changes. I hate it when one of my chickens gets really hurt!

On Monday I was talking to a good friend on the phone, saying how thankful I was that none of us had experienced the stomach bug this season. Hmmmm...I think the stomach bugs were laughing at me. That night we woke up to sounds of C throwing up in his bed. That was a long night to say the least, but Kris was so good and did most of the hard work! Thankfully, it seems to have only been a 24 hour bug and so far the rest of us have escaped it. I really do hate it when one of my chickens is sick!

We've been wondering about M for awhile now...she's been having some issues, let's say. And in honor of her privacy, I won't go in to great detail. So I finally took her into the dr. yesterday and all indicators point to a bladder infection! Poor thing...those are NOT fun...yes, I speak from experience. But not to be outdone by any of her siblings, she too has been a trooper! Have I said how much I hate it when one of my chickens is sick or hurt?! I really do.

On a lighter note, E got the cutest hair cut over the weekend...have a look-see...

Merry Christmas to All!

What a joyful, chaotic, loud, fun, relaxing day we have had! Christmas was definitely busier this year than it ever has been, with a new child and everyone else a year older. There were squeals of delight, fights over sibling's gifts, too much candy, mouthfuls of wrapping paper and fun had by all! Here are a few highlights from the day:

I hope y'all had as great a day as we did and found joy in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Snow Day!

I missed this day of fun with my family because I was in Kansas City, shopping in the snow, with a good friend of mine. We had so much fun, but I'm not sure we had as much fun as these guys!

Glamour Girl Birthday Party

M's party was so much fun! How I wish this was around when I was having my 5th birthday party :) The girls made necklaces, picked out princess dresses, got their hair, make-up and nails done, worked the red carpet and ate cake...what more could a girl want?!

The White Man's Soulja Boy!

We went to Kris' office Christmas party last night. About every other year Kris and his buddy Joe do some sort of comedy routine. This year it was Soulja Boy...and it was ghetto fabulous! Check it out!

And Now We Have a FIVE Year-Old!

What a great day it has been for our little five year-old! She awoke to balloons and presents filling her spot at the table...with her hand over her heart, she said, "My heart can't believe it!" How sweet those words were to hear!

She enjoyed a chocolate covered donut with sprinkles from Krispy Kreme for breakfast and then headed off to school in her new outfit and boots; pink cupcakes with sprinkles in hand! This is her week to be the line leader at school as well...so you really cannot imagine a more exciting day!

We met Daddy and Aunt KK for dinner at Red Robin...chosen not for the fantastic burgers but for the video games! We had a great dinner, played a few games, and then headed home for more presents, cake and ice cream. This year M requested a butterfly cake...I thought it an odd request (mostly because I despise butterflys...not the insect itself but anything decorated with them) but proceeded to make it anyway and ended up having lots of fun myself!

All in all...a very good day to turn five!

Happy Birthday my precious little love!
