Hotlanta

Last weekend we took advantage of 2 days off from school and tagged along on one of Kris' business trips. This was no ordinary business trip because it was to Atlanta, where my brother and his family live. It was so fun to spend an entire weekend with them because usually when we stop in Atlanta it is on our way to somewhere else.

Some of these pictures were taken on my phone and are not that great...but I knew I would miss the "moment" if I ran for my real camera! My nephew has this little Elmo couch that was the hit of the weekend...even Macy, their dog, enjoyed some couch time!

My kids always enjoy swinging on Robbie and Kari's "big" swing in their backyard.

On Friday, I spent the day at home with the kids while Robbie and Kari were at work and Kris was in meetings. Macy was my best friend...glued to my side for most of the day!

On Saturday, we went to a park to let the kids get some energy out, but it was a little chilly and damp that day so we didn't last long.

We were even able to enjoy a date night on Valentine's Day with Robbie and Kari!

Thanks for a GREAT weekend Robbie and Kari! Can't wait to do it again!

Daddy/Daughter Enchanted Ball

On Saturday the girls went with Kris to the Daddy/Daughter Enchanted Ball...and they had a ball! We spent the afternoon curling hair and putting on "make-up" (lip gloss and blush!) and getting all dolled up for Prince Charming. There was dinner and dancing and apparently M was the one to watch on the dance floor. Oh, how I would have loved to be a fly on the wall. What a precious relationship these girls have with their Daddy...and as a Daddy's girl myself, it makes it even more special to watch.

Little Snow...BIG Snow!

The snow came on Tuesday...and it was just enough to cover the ground, maybe an inch or two. Enough to call off school, play, sled, make snow angels, etc.

Last night it snowed all night long and we woke up to a much bigger snow today! Another day off of school and more fun in the snow!

Bowling for Tots

A day off of school meant a trip to the bowling alley with 25 other little friends, all under the age of 9! They all had so much fun, but I don't think we'll be doing that again any time soon :)
Check out that form...

December continued

December also brought the first snow of the season. And although it was just a little one, the kids still had fun playing in it.

And snuggling afterwards...I love finding M reading to E...there is nothing sweeter!

M had a Christmas program at school...

And the weekend before Christmas, we went to the Amy Grant/Vince Gill Christmas Concert. Kris is on the board of a hospital here that does a Christmas concert every year as a fundraiser. After 2 years of the Transiberian Orchestra, I was more than thrilled for this concert. My family grew up listening to Amy Grant and singing her albums like we were Amy Grant :) So, my sister and her husband came up for the concert. We had so much fun. We went to a pre-party before the concert with very yummy turkey sandwiches, according to Lynn! Amy and Vince even made a small appearance to show their support for the hospital. Lynn and I then had 8th row seats...which were so great! While Kris and Todd stayed up in one of the suites and drank wine and watched from a distance :) After the show, we were able to meet Amy and Vince and get a picture. They were so nice and it was so fun to finally meet Amy...I told her we felt like she was one of our sisters :)

Christmas was spent with my family in Memphis this year. I LOVE it when all of my family is together. I am so blessed to be a part of a family where everyone gets along and enjoys each other's spouses and children. I am also so thankful for older nephews and a niece who LOVE their much younger cousins. We are truly blessed by our family!
Christmas Eve...
The one present our kids open on Christmas Eve is Christmas jammies...

Christmas morning...
M got Kit (American Girl Doll)...
E got a new dollhouse...
My mom also made robes and pillows for each of the girls...E put her robe on immediately and carried her pillow around for the rest of the day. She still wears that robe ALL the time...little did we know what a great gift that would be!

C got a new train set although he was happier about his new cell phone and the microphone to my new SingStar game :)

All the adults even got a night out to eat at Rendezvouz...thanks to the older grandkids for babysitting the little ones! We had a great time...and had one of the waiters who had been there the longest...Ole Jack...we think he kind of liked Kari :)

Time at Lynn's house...

C clapping for Ben...
Ellie & Robbie having a jam session...E and Ben taking it all in...
